Registered in 1999 by Olga Petryszyn, the Blue Hawaii Hosta has thick, heart-shaped, corrugated leaves that are, as obvious by its name, blue in color. It's an easy to grow perennial that requires minimal maintenance.
A mature Hosta Blue Hawaii could grow up to a length of 27-29 inches and its width could be as much as 47 inches. During mid summer, this variety of hosta blooms white flowers. Valued mostly for its foliage than its flowers, the leaves hold their intense blue color through the season — from early spring until mid-August. The Hosta Blue Hawaii prefers partial shade and can adapt well to different soil types and levels of soil pH.
Add it to a shady spot in your garden; pot it or plant it in a container your choice!
