Developed by Kent Terpening, Syracuse, Dancing Queen Hosta is a hybrid of Hosta Split Personality (pod parent) and an unknown pollen parent. It has pointed, arching leaves with ruffled “piecrust” edges that make it stand out in the garden. The leaves emerge bright yellow and then change to buttery yellow and remain so throughout the season. Slight variance in color may be observed if these hostas are grown in excessive shade. It blooms pale lavender flowers on 28" scapes in midsummer.
Dancing Queen Hosta can reach a height of up to 18 inches, and it can gain a width of 36 inches. It is easy to grow and can adapt well to different soil types. It can be used for border edging, mass planting, groundcover, and other general garden use. These herbaceous perennials can be divided in spring and fall.
