Golden Scepter hosta is one of the small hosta varieties with a height of 12 inches and a spread of about 24 inches. Its leaves emerge changes from chartreuse in spring to bright golden yellow as the season progresses. A natural sport of "Golden Tiara," Hosta Golden Scepter blooms bell-shaped deep purple flowers on 20-inch scapes in late summer. The flowers form dense clusters.
As far as sunlight is concerned, Hosta Golden Scepter needs partial to full shade conditions. These hosta varieties are easy to grow and prefer well-drained, well-manured, and moist soil. Because of their fast spreading nature, Golden Scepter hosta works well as a groundcover. In addition, they can be used in woodland gardens and edgings and as cut flowers too.
