Hadspen Blue Hosta - medium

The wonderful leaf colors of Hadspen Blue Hosta makes it a plant for every garden. A herbaceous perennial with deep blue, slightly cupped, heart-shaped leaves, hadspen blue hosta grows up to a height of 18 inches.

Its heavily-textured, thick leaves form a sturdy mound of foliage. Its flowers are bell-shaped, lavender to near white in color and bloom in midsummer.

Hadspen Blue Hosta adapt well to part shade to full shade conditions. The plant prefers well-drained, evenly moist, and organically rich soil. Division is easiest to get done in the early spring before the leaves unfurl. Division could be done in the fall as well.

Hadspen Blue Hostas are easy to grow and require low maintenance. They could be used as an edging plant and could be grown in the garden or in a pot. They go well with plants like Jack-in-the-Pulpits and Japanese Painted Fern.

A recipient of the prestigious "Award of Garden Merit" by the Royal Horticultural Society, Hadspen blue hosta grows slowly and takes several years to develop a mature shape.
