Named after the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation, Hosta Aphrodite is a pleasant addition to your garden. A naturally occurring double white flowering mutation of the August lily, Hosta Plantaginea, the leaves of Aphrodite hosta are pale to medium green, glossy, have ribbed veins, and are rippled and wavy.
Hosta Aphrodite thrives well in both partially sunny and shady areas of your garden but needs the late afternoon or the evening sun shining on it. Aphrodite hostas prefer humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil and could grow 18-24″ tall.by 36″ wide
While most other hostas are primarily prized for their foliage, Aphrodite hostas are appreciated for their large pure white, double flowers that boast a discerning fragrance. These 6″ long, 4″ wide fantastic flowers bloom on 30″ scapes in late summer. The Aphrodite hosta flowers develop best when the plant receives good moisture during the blooming season.
