Brother Stefan hosta is characterized by large leaves with a golden color center and an irregular, wide green margin. The leaves are heavily thick, wavy, and corrugated with a seersucker texture and a broadly ovate shape. They form large mounds that can grow up to 28 inches in height and 50 inches wide.
Brother Stefan hosta plants have a slow to moderate growth rate and display good slug resistance. They are known for their preference for well-drained, manure-rich soil with suitable moisture. These hostas are easy to care for and are tolerant towards different soil types. They grow best in partial to full shade conditions. In early summer, Hosta Brother Stefan bloom white flowers on 34-inch scapes. Brother Stefan, like a number of other hosta varieties, is primarily grown for its foliage (and not the flowers). It can find a wide variety of use in woodland and border gardens, as cut flowers, and can even be planted in pots and containers.
