Wild European Ginger is the ideal companion plant for hosta. It has deep dark glossy green foliage, grows about 6-8" high. Use as a ground cover planting, looks great mixed with hosta. European Ginger requires shade, and will grow in even deeper shade than hosta. European Ginger is not a true ginger, and is not to be eaten. It gets its name from the faint ginger scent of its roots. Our ginger is grown in the field for two years and shipped bare root. Plant 2 per square ft.
