Hosta ‘Albo Picta’ or Hosta ‘Fortunei Albopicta’ is characterized its variegated foliage having wavy-edged, heart-shaped leaves. The leaves feature a bright cream-colored center with irregular dark-green margin in spring that turns completely green by summer. The foliage of hosta Albo Picta can grow up to 18-22” in height with a spread of about 31-40”. Pale lavender flowers bloom on leafy 40” scapes in midsummer.
Albo Picta is an easy-to-grow variety of hosta that prefers partial to full shade and can adapt well to different soil types and soil pH levels. Hosta Albo Picta can be used for ground cover, in woodland gardens, along borders, in pots and containers, and even as a cut flower.
