Guacamole Hosta is a large variety of hosta that features big Granny Smith apple green colored leaves with narrow dark green margins. The leaves emerge all green at the onset and the variegation appears with the progress of the season. A Hosta Guacamole plant can grow up to a height of 24 inches and have a spread that is as wide as 40 inches.
Compared to several other hosta varieties, Guacamole is sun tolerant. In fact, direct sunlight can really enhance its leaf colors. A sport of “Fragrant Bouquet,” Guacamole hosta blooms fragrant white flowers on 36” high scapes during late summer.
Hosta Guacamole can tolerate a wide range of soil types and prefers even soil moisture. The contrast between its apple green center and the darker margins makes the Guacamole hosta plant a must-have in any hosta collector’s garden.
