Guardian Angel Hosta

$14.00

Hosta Guardian Angel has ruffled, heart-shaped leaves that emerge with a distinctive ivory-white center and an irregular blue-green margin. With the progress of the seasons, the ivory-white center of the Guardian Angels turns a solid blue-green by summer. However, as old leaves mature and their centers grow darker, new leaves emerge with the ivory-white center, which makes for an attractive contrast. The ivory-white centers of Hosta Guardian Angel tend to hold longer in cooler climates.

A sport of Hosta ‘Blue Angel’, Guardian Angel hosta mounds grow 24″ high. In mid-summer, near white flowers bloom on 36″ scapes. Once mature, Hosta Guardian Angel forms a large mound.

Like many other hosta varieties, Guardian Angels prefer partial to full shade areas and are easy to grow and maintain. They display an affinity towards moist but well-drained soil with a decent humus content. The soil pH can vary between 5.5 and 7.5.

Guardian Angels are well-suited to be used as cut flowers and specimen and grown in woodland gardens, borders, and in tubs and patio pots.
