The Hosta Rainforest Sunrise features lush green leaves in spring that swiftly gain radiant gold centers with streaky dark green margins. It grows up to a height of 10 inches and typically has a spread of about 16-23 inches. A sport of Maui Buttercups, the Rainforest Sunrise Hosta has deeply cupped and heavily corrugated leaves. By mid to late summer, pale lavender flowers appear on 12-inch scapes.
The Rainforest Sunrise is an easy-to-grow hosta that displays tolerance towards different soil types but prefers soil pH to be neutral or alkaline. It is slug resistant and can be used in woodland gardens, borders, edgings, and as a ground cover. Its golden hues look best when in receipt of mild morning sunlight or bright shade.
