Hosta Undulata Mediopicta is a common hosta variety and is pretty easy to grow. It features leaves with a prominent white center and wide, uneven margins that are green in color and streak inward. The leaves of Undulata Mediopicta hosta leaves are wavy in appearance with twisted, pointy tips. As the season progresses, the distinct white center of the leaves give way and turn completely green.
A mound of Undulata Mediopicta hosta can grow up to 14 inches and have a spread of about 24 inches. Flowers are pale lavender and funnel-shaped and they bloom on 24″ ivory scapes in midsummer. Undulata Mediopicta prefers organically rich, well-drained soil with even moisture. It is best grown in part to full shade and regular watering is good for its health. It also goes by the name “Undulata Variegata” and is widely used in landscaping.
