White Christmas Hostas grow up to a height of 12-16″ and have a spread of about 18-24″. It has oval-shaped basal leaves that feature a prominent ivory to white center with irregular margins of dark green. Bell-shaped, lavender-colored flowers appear on 18-24″ drooping scapes in midsummer. In contrast most other hosta types, White Christmas Hosta prefers more indirect light. It grows best when exposed to the early morning sunlight but is averse to the midday sun. When planted in shade, it tends to turn completely green as the season progresses.
White Christmas prefers good fertile soil with an adequate amount of soil moisture. In comparison to other hosta varieties, the White Christmas hostas are a little more challenging to grow given their affinity for a well-watered, fertile site that receives adequate sunlight (neither more nor less).
